The AERC is organizing a technical workshop to enhance the skills of researchers in Research Methods, Proposal Writing and Presentation Skills. The technical workshop will take place in the month of February 11- 22, 2013 at a venue to be announced later. The course will cover several topics on research methods including identifying research topic, literature review, data analysis among others, proposal writing and presentation skills. A number of practical exercises on materials covered and practical issues related to the course will be conducted.
Prospective trainees are hereby invited to respond to the call for expression of interest. The expression of interest should be accompanied by a CV.
To be eligible, one must satisfy the following criteria:
- Have at least a first degree in Economics
- Must be from any of the following countries in African Countries: Angola, Burundi, Rwanda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Liberia, Mali, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Sudan, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Chad, Central African Republic, Guinea Bissau
- Eligible candidates should also submit a short note describing why they would like to take part in the research methods training; indicate whether they have ever written a research report, research paper and get involved in research data collection (i.e in addition to the degree thesis/dissertation they wrote at university); Indicate whether they have any experience of analyzing data using software (e.g. excel, spss, stata or any other statistical package) ; and skills they expect to get at the end of the training
