Policy Workshops
National Policy Workshop are country level events providing a forum for the presentation of the results of AERC research as well as interaction between AERC researchers and the national policy community. They are fully implemented by local institutions, with some financial support from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC). These workshops are useful tools for promoting economic policy dialogue, in some countries they have become annual national events and are largely self financed.
AERC supports annual National Policy Workshops in both Anglophone and Francophone African countries. The main objective of these workshops is to provide a forum at national level, where policy issues in relation to economic development are addressed. The workshops also provide a forum for discussing policy-oriented syntheses of AERC research and for obtaining feedback from policy makers on the AERC research agenda.
